The rules of the ring

These terms are between you and JabMate, who makes JabMate. By using the app or this website you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use JabMate.

JabMate is for adults. If you’re under 18, please don’t make an account or train with it; look for a local club with a qualified coach instead.

JabMate is a fitness app. It isn’t medical advice, and it isn’t a replacement for a coach who can see you in person. Boxing is hard exercise: check with a doctor before you start if you have any health condition, are pregnant, or haven’t exercised in a while.

• Warm up. Every session includes a warm-up; don’t skip it.
• Stop if anything hurts, if you feel dizzy or short of breath, and get help if it doesn’t pass.
• Clear the space around you. Train on a flat, dry floor, away from furniture, people and pets.
• On a heavy bag, wear wraps and gloves.
• JabMate teaches shadowboxing and bag work. It gives no guidance for sparring or any contact with another person.

You train at your own risk. Calorie figures are estimates, shown as a range.

Keep your password to yourself; you’re responsible for what happens in your account. Give us a real email address, so we can reach you about your account and payments. You can delete your account at any time (see how).

The round timer is free. Without paying you can also try a few coached sessions: 1 without an account, 3 with one. Pro opens every program and unlimited coached sessions. It’s $9.99 a month, or $59.99 a year with 7 days free first. Prices are in US dollars; any tax is added at checkout.

• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
• Cancel any time from your account on this website. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
• If you cancel during the free trial, you aren’t charged.
• You can get your money back within 14 days of a payment. See the refund policy.
• You pay on this website, never inside the app. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, under their terms.
• If we ever change a price, we’ll tell you before it applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.

• Don’t try to break, overload or get around the limits of the app, the website or our servers.
• Don’t copy, resell or pass off the app, its coaching content or its voice lines as your own.
• Be decent in the support chat and on the leaderboard. We can remove names or messages that aren’t.

The app, its programs, coaching content, voice lines and design belong to us. Your training data is yours: you can see it in the app and delete it at any time.

We work hard to keep JabMate running and accurate, but it’s provided as it is, and it may sometimes be unavailable or make mistakes, for example in counting punches. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here takes away rights you have by law as a consumer.

You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why whenever we can.

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app and by email before the change applies. If you don’t agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
